Work Based Learning
Also part of the Humphrey Center's Career Development Period (CDP) of the Career Development Services System (CDSS), Work Based Learning aims to prepare future graduates for life after Job Corps. The authentic work experience is the truest test of students preparedness. With the support of their instructors, counselors, and advisors, students can face and conquer the challenges of the work world.
The community, the student, and the center staff work in concert to insure the success of all parties. Students are matched to work sites based on their skills and experience. Those entering the work force for the first time are offered internship experiences so they may add to their skill set and their resume at the same time. Students that bring job experience to the table put those skills to use. The Work Based learning Program offers those students an opportunity to build on their experience or even to test new waters.
