Academics/GED
The Education Department at the Humphrey Job Corps Center offers a comprehensive General Equivalency Development (GED) program and is comprised of several core academic courses which include math, reading, writing, life skills, drivers education, and an ESL program.
The educational courses are individualized, self-paced, and flexible. Students gain knowledge through both theory and hands-on skill training. Highlights of the department include applied academics, project-based learning teams, tutors, and small class size.
The overall goal of the education department is to ensure that every completing student has obtained a GED or high school diploma, received their drivers license, has a well-written resume, and achieves a competency in both math and reading courses.
