Painting and Wall Papering
This center-operated trade teaches students the skills necessary to become employed in the painting and wall papering profession. Students learn preparation of various surfaces to be covered, and how to apply the various types of paint or wall paper. Students are also taught the proper use and care of tools, including ladders and scaffolding. Safety and terminology, measurement, professional ethics, and hazard awareness are also covered in the course. As with the Facilities Maintenance class, students in Painting and Wall Papering (PAWP) have ample opportunities to practice their skills on authentic center work-based learning projects prior to entering the workforce.
