Recreation
Job Corps understands that young people, like the rest of us, need play in their lives as much as work. Positive and healthy leisure-time activities provide students a necessary outlet for energy, as well as an opportunity for social interaction. From prom to snow-tubing to watching a Timber Wolves basketball game from the stands, the center's Recreation Department offers an ongoing calendar of diverse activities, including:
- Arts and Crafts
- Cultural and Social Events
- Intramural Sports
- Movies and Videos
- Sporting Events
Special Section: Healthy Hearts at Humphrey
Students also have the opportunity to get involved in the Student Government Association (SGA) or participate in community service projects. On-center recreational facilities include a gymnasium, a weight room, pool tables, a PX lounge for watching movies, and outside basketball & tennis courts, Water Safety is taught at a local pool.
