Non-residential Program

The Non-residential Program is for students who are unable to live on center because of outside responsibilities, such as children to care for. With the Welfare to Work guidelines, the nonresidential program serves as a way for young parents to get control of their lives and become self-sufficient. The flexibility of the nonresidential program allows students to attend school on a schedule that meets individual needs.

The Non-residential Program is also a valuable option for students who may need more support during the exit phase of Job Corps. Moving off-center while still receiving benefits, allows more time for students to make the transition to employment and independent living.

Onsite Child Care

The Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps Center welcomes the Community Action Head Start Program (http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/hsb/). Child care is now offered to those participating in the non-resident program. For answers to additional questions, please call (651) 647-0442 Ext. 390.
